On November 12th, the third Farming and Reading Culture Festival of Jiangsu University opened at the school's Xishan Lighting Basketball Stadium.
More than 200 people attended the opening ceremony, including Ren Xudong, member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Vice President, representatives from the Propaganda Department, Student Affairs Department, External Liaison Office, Youth League Committee, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Food and Health, School of Literature, and Fluid Center, as well as representatives from the off campus farming and reading education practice base. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jia Weidong, Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering.
Ren Xudong, member of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee and Vice President, delivered the opening speech. He pointed out that China has been established through agriculture since ancient times, and has passed down its family through farming and education. The civilization of farming and education has a long history in China. In the new development stage of comprehensively opening up the construction of a socialist modernized country, strengthening agricultural education and cultivating new talents who know and love agriculture throughout the entire process and all factors, endowing agricultural education with new connotations and values, is the historical mission entrusted to agricultural universities. I hope everyone can take this year's Farming and Reading Culture Festival as an opportunity to further improve their ideological understanding and cultivate a strong sense of love for agriculture; Further enhance professional practical abilities and develop strong skills in promoting agriculture and rural development; Further devote oneself to the great cause of national rejuvenation, make contributions on the stage of rural revitalization, and contribute youthful strength to accelerate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas and comprehensively build a socialist modernized country.
Ren Zezhong, the Minister of the Student Work Department of the School Party Committee, Zhang Yongqiang, the Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, Wang Yuzhong, the Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the School Party Committee, and Fan Yirong, the Deputy Director of the Off campus Joint Office, awarded the "Cultivation and Reading Education Practice Base" bronze medal to four units: the Baitu Town Wealth Fruit Industry Professional Cooperative, Jiangsu Tea Expo Park, Lixin Village in Xinba Town, Yangzhong City, and Lianhe Village.
Kiwi fruit picking robot, hydraulic four-wheel drive self-propelled electrostatic spray bar spray, pure electric drive omnidirectional intelligent leveling agricultural machinery general chassis, humanoid double arm grape high-speed harvesting robot, self-propelled strawberry transplanter, key technologies and equipment of rice wheat intelligent low loss combined harvesting in complex scenes in hilly and mountainous areas and other intelligent agricultural machinery innovation equipment were displayed on the scene.
At the opening ceremony, there were also activities such as reciting classic Chinese culture, presenting my youth story, and experiencing farming and reading culture. Through exhibitions, experiences, and tasting, we allowed everyone to immerse themselves in agricultural culture, immerse themselves in the value of labor, and inspire young students to understand and love agriculture, as well as to take on the responsibility of learning for agriculture.
