Introduction---The institute of field management machinery

The institute of field management machinery (IFMM) has 6 faculties currently, all the staffs have the Ph.D. degrees, among them there are 3 full professor with overseas research experience. In recent years, 12 national research projects sponsored by National High-tech R&D Program of China (863 Program), Major Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Natural Science Foundation of China, 21 Provincial and ministerial-level research projects are investigated in IFMM, the total R&D funds are more than 20 million yuan RMB. There are 181 academic papers published in professional core journals and 136 papers cited in SCI, EI and ISTP, 13 invention patents authorized. IFMM won 1 The first prize of Ministry of Education and 3 provincial science and technology progress prizes ,4 projects had been identified by provincial and ministerial level Committee. IFMM have obtained significant economic and social benefits in the aspects of achievements transformation and industrialization development, there are 10 equipments developed in IFMM by now, and 8 equipments have been transferred to domestic manufacturers.

In recent years, the research group of IFMM was dedicated to the  accurate and efficient fluid transport  research area and key technology, such as basic theory research projects in electrostatic spraying,  pressure pulse self-regulating ultra low volume spray, aerial spray drift reduction, spraying droplet behavior characteristic near target and target interface. IFMM have made significant advances in the leading edge field of liquid atomization mechanism, discrete phase particle charging mechanism , two-phase flow transport and depositing process research around the world, besides, IFMM made a further research on electrostatic spray technology, ultrasonic atomization, low quantity spray , precision spraying technology and some combination researches. The group studied the reflection characteristic of infrared ray signal in the crops, the principle and technology of ultrasonic distance measurement. Based on these researches above and electrostatic sprayer, the orientational accurate sprayer equipment  in orchard application developed successfully.  Through integrated application of online auto- mixing, pressure pulsation control and air-assisted high voltage electrostatic spraying, the group have developed series of high efficient pesticide sprayer productions with good adhesion and ultra-low volume. Meanwhile the development of high-voltage electrostatic sprayer and air-assisted low volume boom sprayer for paddy field and boom sprayer for vegetable plantation have filled the domestic blank.
